The front page
Put the phone down. Go meet someone.
A throwback to meeting in person, making plans, and showing up. The app does the before and the after.
Remember When is for the evening itself: a porch dinner, a listening night, a coffee with someone you have only talked to on the phone. It helps you set it up, helps you get there safely, and then gets out of the way.
What is in it
Private gatherings
Host a dinner or a game night and approve who comes. Guests see the address only after you say yes. Photos taken at the party go into a shared album that stays sealed until the party is over, so nobody is filming mid-conversation.
House Rules time
If the host offers it, guests can choose to put their phones away together for a while. It is voluntary, nobody is locked out, emergency calls always work, and anyone can leave whenever they like. A host can switch on "party pooper", a loud, silly sound that everyone in House Rules time hears when someone leaves early. It is shown before you agree.
The Paper
A local newspaper in your pocket. The front page lists what is on near you. Personals are dating ads with no photo: words first. Friends is its own section for meeting people for friendship only. Sections and filters scroll sideways, like turning a page.
Calls that ring like phone calls
When two people both agree to talk, they can call each other. There are no surprise calls, no public phone numbers, and an answering machine for when you miss one. A small game keeps the first call easy.
Green Light
Out somewhere and open to a hello? Turn your light on. People nearby with their lights on can see that someone is open to chatting. "Lit tonight" shows which named places are busy, never who. "Check a place" lets you look before you go, and "I'm on my way" shows a yellow light so others know people are heading there.
Date safety kit
A rescue call that rings you at a time you pick, a date plan you can send to someone you trust, and a check-in timer that sounds an alarm if you do not answer "Are you okay?". One tap to call emergency services sits at the top.
Why it exists
Everything is online now: our friends, our dates, our memories. This app does the before (the invitation, the plan, the first call) and the after (the photos, the thank-you), so the part in the middle can be spent looking at each other.
Try it before you download it
This is the current app running right here, with made-up people and places. Nothing is sent anywhere. When opened full screen, the demo remembers its state in your own browser. Tap around.
Demo only. Sounds play after your first tap. Open the demo full screen.
Privacy and safety, in plain words
- Adults only: 18 and over.
- Photos from a gathering stay in the app, are shown only to the people who were there, and are removed 90 days after it ends. The app cannot stop someone photographing a screen, and says so.
- Green Light takes a precise location read when you turn your light on, and one coarse read when Today opens if location is already allowed. It is rounded on your phone, and no trail is kept.
- Block and report from anywhere you see a person, ad or photo. A person reviews reports.
- You can delete your account in the app or on this site.
